Ralph & Russo, Fall 2014 Couture


When it comes to haute-couture collections, I am most eager to see the Ralph & Russo one. I love the clean shapes, the sophisticated details, the late 50s inspiration, the impressive embroidery and the intricate lace. The white and pearled silver dresses donned effortlessly on the runway at the beginning of the show reminded me of Jackie Kennedy’s feminine style. The retro influences were then followed by ethereal gowns and dreamy silk or tulle dresses with gorgeous sweeping trains. See-thorough fabrics, floral appliques, beads and sequins completed the design of the dresses. The two designers played with volume and shapes, using asymmetrical skirts, impressive over-sized hats, sleeves and bows. Enjoy!
