Norwegian Rain AW2013 Collection

norwegian-rain-2013-spring-summer-collection-rain-coat  The classic Northern aesthetic combined with Japanese sensibility took form into a very well-executed collection created by the small design label Norwegian Rain. The clean tailoring defines simplicity and functionality, two aspects  in accordance with the Japanese traditional dressing code. The understated pieces hide the hi-tech qualities which translate into a collection of waterproof, windproof, breathable and recycled membrane fabrics from Japan along with construction and detailing from the off-shore-, mountain- and raingear industry.

Altough the label focuses on men’s clothing, I absolutely love their take on women’s clothing with visible hints to the Japanese style and men’s tailoring.

+++ And, may I remind you that one of the main trends for the SS2013 season is represented by the Asian inspired looks.

Très Chic, Hermès Fall 2013

This is the part where I fall under the spell of one of the most prestigious Parisian houses, Hermès. This year’s fall 2013 collection is all about subtleness, elegance and functionality conjoined in the same concept, a concept that has led Christophe Lemaire, the creative director of the house, to lay out a collection of mystery. The designs portray the image of an international woman, “She could be Parisian, she could be from London, you don’t know”. I still haven’t decided what to like most in this collection: the understated black and white dresses, the chic suits, the high quality leather jackets, the perfectly tailored coats or the prestigious bags. Without any doubt, I can say that this is one of my top favorite fall collections. Here are my favorite  looks: (more…)

The Martin Grant Coats, Fall 2013

Martin Grant‘s fall 2013 coats have impressed me deeply! Oh, well, I am such a fool for minimalism, I just can’t stand a chance in front of a well-executed collection. The Australian designer’s high quality coats were, from my point of view, the apex of this collection. Timeless silhouettes portrayed the ideal French charm while the simple tailoring denoted sheer elegance and functionality in the same time. Although the designer approaches very geometrical and sharp aesthetics, he manages to give the audience a feminine and truly captivating collection.

Lady in Red

Love is red. Blood is red. Roses are red. Mars is red (the Red Planet).

  • Red is dominance.
  • Red is passion.

Red is meaningful in many ways depending on the culture, the traditions or the religion. It is the symbol of sin, guilt and anger.(source)

I am not a big fan of red clothing in particular, but there is something so charming about this color that can’t be express through any other. If you are a confident person who isn’t afraid to get noticed among all the black or greyish outfit wearers (possibly because of the season), then wear red

Jil Sander – Spring 2011 RTW | Issa – Fall 2011 RT W | Jonathan Saunders – Fall 2011 RTW | Kinder Agguigini – Fall 2011 RTW

  • Red is the symbol of courage and sacrifice.
