Freida Pinto, “Juene and Jolie” Premiere

freida-pinto-juene-and-jolie-premiere-2013-cannes-film-festival-dress-silver-day-3Stepping out for a second appearance on the red carpet, Freida Pinto looked flawless in a silver gown by Sanchita. I have to say that I was more excited about this stylish embellished design than the Gucci dress. What didn’t work out for me at her opening ceremony look was the hairstyle, but last night her ’20s-inspired updo brought a flawless vintage touch to this look.

It is perhaps my favorite look of the second day, as Freida looks like she has just stepped out of a Scott Fitzgerald novel. Impeccable from head to toe.! Love the delicate loose side bun as well as the red lips. Such an elegant look! Easily my favorite!

Arrivals @ The 2013 NAACP Image Awards

I was very happy to see Kerry Washington in this lovely Oscar de la Renta spring 2013 dress. Apparently, she is quite fond of this style, as I immediately remembered that gorgeous Giles dress she wore at the London premiere of Quentin Tarantino’s new movie “Django Unchained”. Kerry opted for a simple look, replacing the bejeweled butterfly belt  with a less heavy one.  Freida Pinto and Halle Berry attended the awards also. See their  looks below: (more…)

The 2013 SAG Awards – The Outfits

To get straight to the point, my favorites of the night were Marion Cotillard and Naomi Watts. They are the first that come to my mind when I think about last night’s red carpet appearances. Naomi Watts looked stunning in a white Marchesa strapless gown. The fact that she kept the styling simple, made it  look classic and sophisticated. Marion Cotillard wore Christian Dior as usual. The design of the dress really worked out for her. I like it and I also like the fact that, despite wearing the same brand over and over again, Marion always manages to show us a new approach of the look. Julianne Moore, Amanda Seyfried and Kerry Washington looked very elegant as well. I’d also add Nina Dobrev and Jennifer Garner on this list. Jennifer, who doesn’t take risks when it comes to choosing the dress for the red carpet but neither does she make big mistakes, opted for a sheer gold Oscar de la Renta dress.

Jessica Chastain was another pleasant appearance on the red carpet. Her Alexander McQueen dress is definitely an improvement from what she has worn this awards season. Her dresses have been so lackluster, I believe she deserves to make a great comeback.

Sometimes the dresses, as presented on the runway, don’t look so good on the red carpet. For example, as much as I love Giambattisa Valli, Anne Hathway’s look did not impress me. The most disappointing was undoubtedly Jennifer Lawrence. The design looked completely wrong…it just looked like a cloth wrapped around her body. Just because it’s tagged Dior doesn’t mean it is good.

Arrivals @ W Magazine and Dom Perignon’s Pre-Golden Globes Party

The pre-Golden Globes parties have begun and last night was time for W Magazine to held such an event. I loved seeing Olga Kurylenko attending the party as she is one of my favorites as far as style is concered. She opted for a beautiful Emilio Pucci dress and Casadei black and white shoes. A white and gold clutch completed the look. This is definitely my favorite outfit of the night. Marion Cotillard, who’s always a pleasure to see on the red carpet, wore a Prabal Gurung look. Aussie VS model, Miranda Kerr, looked stylish in a Dolce&Gabbana sequined dress with black lace details.

It seemed to be a blue situation last night, as many celebrities opted for this color. Jennifer Lawrence wore a Victoria Beckham dress. Freida Pinto opted for Missoni. Beautiful Kerry Washington arrived in Los Angeles after wrapping up the “Django Unchained” promotional tour. I have to say that her appearance was impeccable from photocalls to the red carpet premieres. For the W Magazine event she wore a Stella McCartney black and white jumpsuit, a Reed Krakoff jacket, a Roger Vivier velvet clutch.

Amy Adams donned a green and gold look, while Lana del Rey wore an Izmaylova nude coat and skirt. Amber Valletta looked chic in a classic Emilio Pucci fall 2012 dresses. Black heels and bag completed her look. (pictures via: Getty)
