When it comes to haute-couture collections, I am most eager to see the Ralph & Russo one. I love the clean shapes, the sophisticated details, the late 50s inspiration, the impressive embroidery and the intricate lace. The white and pearled silver dresses donned effortlessly on the runway at the beginning of the show reminded me of Jackie Kennedy’s feminine style. The retro influences were then followed by ethereal gowns and dreamy silk or tulle dresses with gorgeous sweeping trains. See-thorough fabrics, floral appliques, beads and sequins completed the design of the dresses. The two designers played with volume and shapes, using asymmetrical skirts, impressive over-sized hats, sleeves and bows. Enjoy! (more…)
Zuhair Murad’s collection takes us on a colorful quest! The Lebanese designer created looks that vary from classic black and white combinations to electric blue hues, turquoise and raspberry pink.
The collection missed the golden touches which were left aside, this time the designer delivering breath-taking silver gowns instead. Silk, shimmering patterns, embroidery, elegant lace, see-through fabrics, trains sweeping to the ground and dramatic prints build up a sheer haute-couture collection. Zuhair Murad has got us used to seeing beautiful delicate belts complementing the looks on the runway. If the spring collection was an ode to Greek golden leafs, this time around the designer opted for geometric silver shapes. Here are my favourite looks! Enjoy! (more…)
One of the most awaited, or better said, the most awaited collection of the haute-couture fashion week has arrived. The Lebanese designer Elie Saab who has turned the couture fashion shows into a royal feast for the eyes, has delivered yet again a breath-taking collection all of a piece with his signature alluring style.
Personally, I love the fall collections better than the spring ones because of the heavier, more opulent and royal looks displayed on the runway. Elie Saab has stuck to his successful formula once again – some may say that these gowns are becoming repetitive hence boring, however the designer doesn’t seem to show any interest in changing it. You know why? Because it’s working! I don’t know about you, but I love these collections just as they are. (more…)
We need a doze of good summer vibes to enjoy this beautiful Sunday and start Monday fresh with strength and determination. I decided that the best to cheer ourselves up is by indulging in overly romantic fashion designs by Lebanese designer Jean Louis Sabaji, whose summer 2014 collection is an ode to the beauty of nature. Floral patterns pave the way into a world of feminine sophistication and delicacy, which is so perfectly accurate for how I feel about the summer. But enough with the talking, these pictures speak enough for themselves! Enjoy! (more…)
Dear stylists, please let us see more of Mr. Yudashkin on the red carpet!
After taking my breath away with an utterly feminine SS2014 collection, Valentin Yudashkin easily made it to the top of my list of favorite designers.
Dropping out the full minimalist style for a more thorough sophistication, the Russian designer opted for embellished gowns and see-through fabrics. The collection exuded black elegance through all its pores, so, here and there, metallic accents and sheer white designs enlivened the runway. (more…)
