Zuhair Murad’s collection takes us on a colorful quest! The Lebanese designer created looks that vary from classic black and white combinations to electric blue hues, turquoise and raspberry pink.
The collection missed the golden touches which were left aside, this time the designer delivering breath-taking silver gowns instead. Silk, shimmering patterns, embroidery, elegant lace, see-through fabrics, trains sweeping to the ground and dramatic prints build up a sheer haute-couture collection. Zuhair Murad has got us used to seeing beautiful delicate belts complementing the looks on the runway. If the spring collection was an ode to Greek golden leafs, this time around the designer opted for geometric silver shapes. Here are my favourite looks! Enjoy! (more…)
I have to start this list with the one and only Elie Saab! The Lebanese designer’s mind is a deep ocean of imagination and creativity and doesn’t cease to amaze us! This time Elie Saab has put together 48 breath-taking looks that are as dreamy and ethereal as he got us used to see. It’s hard to choose favorite looks ! He always manages to immerse you in the magical world of couture and charming elegance. I can already picture most of these dresses on the red carpet. My only hope is that the stylists will work their magic and get them to the much anticipated Oscars. (more…)
This is it! The 2013 Academy Awards took place last night at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood. As expected, there were a lot of actresses who walked the red carpet. Among my favorites was probably Naomi Watts in Giorgio Armani, who easily managed to pull off that look. I also liked Alicia Vikander & Sandra Bullock, both in Elie Saab. Jessica Chastain wore a simple yet very classy and sophisticated design by Armani Privé. I would also add on this list Charlize Theron‘s Dior gown and Anne Hathaway‘s Prada dress. See all the looks below:
Winter is very soon coming to an end and I am happily looking forward to spring, as are the designers. Recently, the elites presented their spring haute couture collections and obviously I had to peek at each and one of them. There was something about Stéphane Rolland’s runway looks that immediately drew my attention. The sheer simplicity and the perfect tayloring were transported into a classic minimalistic perfection that centered on the two classic antagonist colours: black and white. You can see the collection here: wwd.com.
I haven’t really covered any Parisian street style that went on during the haute couture fashion week, but Stéphane Rolland’s monochrome collection gives me the perfect reason to do so and point out the timeless vibe of white in outfits and elegant black details.
