In Detail: Chalayan Fall/Winter 2013

Every season, there are a couple of fashion designers that I like to keep an eye on. One of them is Hussein Chalayan whose coats and jackets I am always craving for.  And again, he didn’t cease to amaze me this season with his approach of modern looks and the speed of rolling from day to night wardrobe. In a palette of black, gray and dark green, vivified here and there with light earth tones or vibrant laser-like colors, the designer presented a collection of denim pieces interpreted in various forms: from short skirts to flare or skinny jeans. Signature precise cuts shaped perfectly tailored jackets and coats, while short colorful dresses alternated with long black gowns. Ankle boots in red velvet enlivened the collection.

See some of my favorite details of the collection below:

The Minimalistic Approach with Warby Parker Glasses

“I approached Cristina with a challenge – create a collage that represents you and the things that inspire you using Warby Parker eyeglasses. I love the idea of having glasses that you can tailor to a certain event or activity, based on your life, and at Warby Parker we want your glasses to reflect you and compliment your individuality and style!

Check out Cristina’s glasses selection for any occasion below!”

I was very happy to answer to Kaki’s proposal as I haven’t made a post on outfits in a while. Besides, I myself wear glasses from time to time, especially in college so I thought it would be a good idea to create an outfit particularly focusing on this item. Luckily glasses aren’t indispensable for me, but they’re fun and I like wearing them.

I am so very fond of minimalism, I could work out outfits of such kind all day long. For some reason, while I was putting together all these items from my favorite brands, I kept thinking about Carine Roitfeld’s style. She’s not really on my list of favorites by there are a couple of outfits she has worn that completely match my preferences. Her simple tone on tone outfits, with very little color combinations or vibrant hues, her pencil skirts and loose shirts look so great together! Here is what I am talking about: picture 1, picture 2, picture 3, picture 4 love this outfit!.

Weekend Notes: Currently Lovin’…Voluminous Coats

I have fallen in love with this Chalayan coat ever since I saw it. There is something special about this voluminous, yet simple design. The shape and the tailoring are perfect. Here is an outfit that I created with this lovely coat and some other things I like:

3. Wolverine boots by Samantha Pleet via bonadrag.com
4. Preen silk top via net-a-porter.com
5. KSUBI jeans via bonadrag.com

Notes: Here are some other coats that I like from the Fall 2012 RTW Collections. You should definitely check out the 3.1 Phillip Lim runway show (above). I really like the outwear that’s why I chose two pictures from his collection which is based on minimalism – just what I like!.

Acne (above) and Chloé (below) are always on my lists of favorites. The 2012 Fall Jil Sander collection (below) is a stunner for sure. Everything about it is amazing. Raf Simmons created a beautiful collection of sheer feminine pieces.

Allyson Felix wore a Burberry coat and bag and Tali Lennox opted for a Pre-Fall 2012 pencil skirt  (buy it) and a Fall 2012 stripped top (buy it) that she matched with Burberry boots. Street Style: Mirand Kerr’s Dries van Noten jacket & Valentino Bag

First of all, I don’t really know where these pictures were taken…All I can say is that Miranda wore a Dries van Notes jacket, Ray-Ban sunglasses, a Valentino leather shoulder bag and Manolo Blahnik suede pumps. Doesn’t it look like a perfect outfit for fall? (pictures via: tumblr.com/ Miranda Kerr Bloom Community)
