Over-the-Knee Leather Boots @ Fall/Winter 2014 Fashion Shows

What do you think about over-the-knee boots? I personally have been quite on the fence about wearing a pair. And that’s mostly because they can come across as tacky. However, they can look incredibly chic if they’re paired with the right items. For the fall 2014-2015 collections, the designers have come up with a lot of variations, from the classic black leather boots, to the suede, patched or lace-up ones.  Here they are: (more…)

Street Style: Miroslava Duma in Electric Blue @ London Fall 2013 Fashion Week

Not always do I like Miroslava’s street style choices but when her inclination is towards minimalism I startle in excitement. Therefore, it was impossible to ignore her awe-inspiring chic blue look she effortlessly pulled off during the London fashion week just two days ago. The perfect formal tailoring, the vibrant blue color of the suit, plus the refined white and gold accessories are a flawless combination of elements that make this look absolutely perfect! (more…)

Street Style: Black & White @ New York Spring 2013 Fashion Week

Yes, it’s all about black & white! We can already draw a conclusion –  this trend is certainly ready to take over: the classic black & white combination. For the Spring 2013 collections, the designers have come with less or more different approaches of this combination but one thing for sure, is that we’ll see a lot of these two colors in the wardrobe. And the street style pictures taken on the street of New York during the fashion show seem to suggest the same.

Street Style: Metallic Accents, Bronze & Gold

Among the many prints and patterns that have taken over the streets during the fashion week, I got more excited about the gold and bronze fabrics. Very stylish and modern, the gold hues have been used intensively not only for jewelry (oversized necklaces and bracelets) and bags but also for other clothing items such as skirts and pants, both for men and women.

Street Style: Fall 2012 Haute-Couture Fashion Week, Paris

As you know, this week has been all about couture, as the world’s best know brands have presented their haute-couture collections for the fall/winter 2012-2013 season. Throughout the week, the street-style photographers have been capturing the street life and its vividness, as most of the people, from fashion editors to models, have donned summery outfits, full of colors & floral prints. Elena Perminova, who’s always an attraction for the photographers’ camera lenses, impressed in a lovely floral peplum top and skirt – it’s one of my favorite outfits of hers so far. She also donned a blue strapped Chloe dress.

Denim is the ever-present fabric in fashion. We have seen it on models such as Poppy Delevigne, who matched a pencil denim skirt with a white shirt during the Chanel show, or on Hanne Gaby Odiele, who opted for a very casual look wearing denim jeans, a Dries van Noten shirt and a pair of Adidas. Very fresh combinations were denim on denim, or leopard print on leopard print as seen on model Caroline Brasch Nielsen.

Another outfit that I like was Miroslava Duma’s masculine black jumpsuit. She’s not a very tall person but the ensemble is helping her a lot. Ulyana Sergeenko followed her personal style, as usual. My favorite outfit so far is her floral vintage dress. I haven’t found many pictures of this outfits as everyone has focused on her impressive black lace outfit, part of her Fall 2012 Couture Collection, a collection that was presented a couple of days ago in Paris. Long skirts or trains made of easy fabrics are also a chic option, as seen on Sofia Guellaty and Michelle Harper.

But, as usual, the colors win it all: from tropical prints to more traditions ones, straps, flowers, portraits, feathers and more. Check out the pictures below!
