When it comes to haute-couture collections, I am most eager to see the Ralph & Russo one. I love the clean shapes, the sophisticated details, the late 50s inspiration, the impressive embroidery and the intricate lace. The white and pearled silver dresses donned effortlessly on the runway at the beginning of the show reminded me of Jackie Kennedy’s feminine style. The retro influences were then followed by ethereal gowns and dreamy silk or tulle dresses with gorgeous sweeping trains. See-thorough fabrics, floral appliques, beads and sequins completed the design of the dresses. The two designers played with volume and shapes, using asymmetrical skirts, impressive over-sized hats, sleeves and bows. Enjoy! (more…)

I’ve been going through street style pictures ever since the fashion weeks started hoping that I would eventually find something that would blow my mind. I waited for all the fashion weeks to be over to finally write a post about the street style that was so very much awaited. Photographer Diego Zuko captured the aesthetic of the rainy and cloudy days that restrained the street style to a less colourful range of options. The most vividly in my mind still remain Miroslava Duma in her electirc blue suit and of course, the beautiful Ulyana Sergeenko who carries her signature style so effortlessly.
But, fur seemed to be what everybody opted for, whether it was the classic coat/jacket or smaller pieces such as hats or collars.

I eagerly waited to see how Phoebe Philo envisioned the Céline woman for the next fall/winter season. I couldn’t have been happier with the result: femininity and functionality merging into one. Structural silhouettes, geometric prints, a color palette screaming strength, rounded designs, voluminous coats, modern minimalistic jewelery pieces and jaw-dropping leather boots formed a very well-executed collection that defines the woman of modern times. I selected some of my favorite looks and you can see them below. Please let me add that those boots and coats are definitely something to crave for!
