Martin Grant‘s fall 2013 coats have impressed me deeply! Oh, well, I am such a fool for minimalism, I just can’t stand a chance in front of a well-executed collection. The Australian designer’s high quality coats were, from my point of view, the apex of this collection. Timeless silhouettes portrayed the ideal French charm while the simple tailoring denoted sheer elegance and functionality in the same time. Although the designer approaches very geometrical and sharp aesthetics, he manages to give the audience a feminine and truly captivating collection.
Winter is very soon coming to an end and I am happily looking forward to spring, as are the designers. Recently, the elites presented their spring haute couture collections and obviously I had to peek at each and one of them. There was something about Stéphane Rolland’s runway looks that immediately drew my attention. The sheer simplicity and the perfect tayloring were transported into a classic minimalistic perfection that centered on the two classic antagonist colours: black and white. You can see the collection here: wwd.com.
I haven’t really covered any Parisian street style that went on during the haute couture fashion week, but Stéphane Rolland’s monochrome collection gives me the perfect reason to do so and point out the timeless vibe of white in outfits and elegant black details.
Let’s all take a moment here and admire the latest Giambattista Valli couture collection that has just been presented during the Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week. My love for this brand is infinite, therefore I could not resist not writing about it. I have slightly abandoned the blog lately as I am going through an intense exam session in college, but for a delightful haute couture show I can allow myself a break.
“Flora and fauna”, this is what the Italian designer has mentioned as the main inspiration for this collection. The animalier theme, as interpreted by him, consisted of black and white animal prints whereas the flora was classically interpreted in a variety of flowery embroidery. See the entire collection here. Enjoy!
This is a picture of Ulyana on the streets of Paris! The picture was taken back in June and although it has been a while since then I still wanted to show it to you. The simple combination between the white top and black high-waisted pants is elegantly worn by the Russian designer who is a pleasure to follow during the fashion weeks. People get very excited about her awe-inspiring dresses which she usually prefers to the top+pants outfits, but I really like this Ulyana as well.
