I was expecting to see Cate Blanchett dazzling on the red carpet regardless of her choice in the dress. And of course she did not disappoint. It’s true that after seeing her latest appearances, I thought that she would go for a feminine, ethereal or minimalist look. But perhaps that’s why the excitement tripled when she took over the red carpet in this breath-taking Armani Privé gown. It was quite unexpected and I was pleasantly surprised. Chopard earring, a retro hairstyle and flawless makeup completed the look. She truly knows how to make a lace gown work and not feel overwhelmed by it.
The pre-Golden Globes parties have begun and last night was time for W Magazine to held such an event. I loved seeing Olga Kurylenko attending the party as she is one of my favorites as far as style is concered. She opted for a beautiful Emilio Pucci dress and Casadei black and white shoes. A white and gold clutch completed the look. This is definitely my favorite outfit of the night. Marion Cotillard, who’s always a pleasure to see on the red carpet, wore a Prabal Gurung look. Aussie VS model, Miranda Kerr, looked stylish in a Dolce&Gabbana sequined dress with black lace details.
It seemed to be a blue situation last night, as many celebrities opted for this color. Jennifer Lawrence wore a Victoria Beckham dress. Freida Pinto opted for Missoni. Beautiful Kerry Washington arrived in Los Angeles after wrapping up the “Django Unchained” promotional tour. I have to say that her appearance was impeccable from photocalls to the red carpet premieres. For the W Magazine event she wore a Stella McCartney black and white jumpsuit, a Reed Krakoff jacket, a Roger Vivier velvet clutch.
Amy Adams donned a green and gold look, while Lana del Rey wore an Izmaylova nude coat and skirt. Amber Valletta looked chic in a classic Emilio Pucci fall 2012 dresses. Black heels and bag completed her look. (pictures via: justjared.com/credit Getty)
You know it’s the awards season, when there is literally an event every day. People’s Choice Awards were followed by last night’s Critics’ Choice Awards where the red carpet appearances improved pleasantly from Wednesday’s show. Therefore, I enjoyed it more. Without a doubt, Emmy Rossum’s Carolina Herrera dark blue dress, Marion Cotillard’s Zuhair Murad floral ensemble and Jaime King’s Jason Wu black gown are my favorite outfits. I will add Emily Blunt’s look on my list as well, not particularly because of her Miu Miu dress, but because of her flawless retro hairstyle. What delighted me however was Marion’s choice to wear something else than her usual Dior dresses. Not that I mind them of crouse, but it’s nice to see something fresh in her wardrobe. (more…)
