Lupita Nyong’o was my favorite of the night! She wore the type of design I had predicted for her so imagine my excitement when I saw these pictures!

Last night, with a couple of hours left until the show, I saw this post on tumblr which I found  very amusing because it was so relevant to me and how I was feeling about Lupita – and apparently to some other 10,000 people. I wonder how the team behind Lupita’s red carpet appearances must have felt with the pressure of living up to everybody’s expectations. And they did!

Let me tell you why I am so fond of this look:

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote a post about the Haute Couture collections and , if you remember, I picked a gold Elie Saab dress for Lupita, the exact same design she wore last night. That’s how I pictured her: in a feminine deep v neck dress. And my dream came true! It wasn’t Elie Saab, it was Prada, as expected. The actress kept faithful to a minimalist style opting for very subtle details and accessories. Enjoy the pictures! (more…)

As I have promised I am still updating on award ceremonies! The 2013  Costume Designers Guild Awards took place last night in Beverly Hills. One of my favorite outfits was Ashley Madekwe’s. I love J. Mendel’s summery collections mostly because of the positive vibrant colors and floral prints which I am always delighted to see on the red carpet. You might remember Kerry Washington’s J. Mendel spring/summer 2013 look at the Berlin premiere of “Django Unchained”. See more outfits below: (more…)

The 2013 Critics’ Choice Awards – The Outfits

2013 Critics’ Choice Awards -THE OUTFITS

You know it’s the awards season, when there is literally an event every day. People’s Choice Awards were followed by last night’s Critics’ Choice Awards where the red carpet appearances improved pleasantly from Wednesday’s show. Therefore, I enjoyed it more. Without a doubt, Emmy Rossum’s Carolina Herrera dark blue dress, Marion Cotillard’s Zuhair Murad floral ensemble and Jaime King’s Jason Wu black gown are my favorite outfits. I will add Emily Blunt’s look on my list as well, not particularly because of her Miu Miu dress, but because of her flawless retro hairstyle. What delighted me however was Marion’s choice to wear something else than her usual Dior dresses. Not that I mind them of crouse, but it’s nice to see something fresh in her wardrobe. (more…)
