When it comes to haute-couture collections, I am most eager to see the Ralph & Russo one. I love the clean shapes, the sophisticated details, the late 50s inspiration, the impressive embroidery and the intricate lace. The white and pearled silver dresses donned effortlessly on the runway at the beginning of the show reminded me of Jackie Kennedy’s feminine style. The retro influences were then followed by ethereal gowns and dreamy silk or tulle dresses with gorgeous sweeping trains. See-thorough fabrics, floral appliques, beads and sequins completed the design of the dresses. Let’s all take a moment here and admire the latest Giambattista Valli couture collection that has just been presented during the Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week. My love for this brand is infinite, therefore I could not resist not writing about it. I have slightly abandoned the blog lately as I am going through an intense exam session in college, but for a delightful haute couture show I can allow myself a break.
“Flora and fauna”, this is what the Italian designer has mentioned as the main inspiration for this collection. The animalier theme, as interpreted by him, consisted of black and white animal prints whereas the flora was classically interpreted in a variety of flowery embroidery. See the entire collection here. Enjoy!
