Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli are an unbeatable duo! The talented designers manage to make me fall in love with this house a little bit more with every fashion show they put on. After being completely and irremediably in love with last year’s fall collection inspired by the beautiful Dutch paintings,  I can’t stop feeling the same about the new fall 2014 one. The runway was vivid and colorful, yet strong and elegant. The designers incorporated a variety of style expressions, but still highlighted the core of this fashion house.

Minimalism blended with couture.  A lot of the elements seen in the SS2014 couture collection were kept in. The sophisticated tulle and lace dresses were embroidered with floral motifs and see-through fabrics were decorated with little birds and butterflies. As I mentioned before, the show did not miss the minimalism. Simple, yet utterly feminine dresses completed the collection. (more…)

Dear stylists, please let us see more of Mr. Yudashkin on the red carpet!

After taking my breath away with an utterly feminine SS2014 collection, Valentin Yudashkin easily made it to the top of my list of favorite designers.

Dropping out the full minimalist style for a more thorough sophistication, the Russian designer opted for embellished gowns and see-through fabrics. The collection exuded black elegance through all its pores, so, here and there, metallic accents and sheer white designs enlivened the runway. (more…)

With all the hype surrounding the Oscars, I forgot about Elie Saab presenting the new RTW collection. But it’s time to catch up! For the new season, the Lebanese designer chose a darker palette of colors just right for fall: red burgundy dresses, silk jumpsuits, ombre gowns, dark teal blue velvety fabrics and full black sequined gowns built the collection.

I picked my favorite looks, and although the awards season is over, I hope we’ll get to see some of these outfits on the red carpet, at movie premieres, photocalls or dinner events. (more…)

Ralph & Russo Haute Couture Spring 2014

ralph-and-russo-haute-couture-spring-summer-2014-runway-pictures-collection-dreses-fashion-evening-gowns-2I am very delighted with the new Ralph & Russo haute couture collection which gracefully combines understated elegance with refined beauty and femininity. The clean design is invigorated here and there by infusions of lace and sequins or impressive oversized bows. The classic color palette is complemented by delicate pastels, while masculine suits and tie neck blouses balance the profound feminine elegance of the evening dresses. Ralph & Russo has delivered breath-taking gowns for the red carpet events. I cannot forget Angelina Jolie’s sensational statuesque look, therefore I can’t wait to see more of what the brand has in stores for us this year. (more…)
