Ripping Denim

Have you seen Anja Rubik’s photoshoot for Vogue Paris? The April issue has, undoubtedly, dedicated some pages to the denim fanatics who, surely, are thrilled to see how much the denim itmes have been thriving this spring. In the spotlight? The one and only Anja Rubik, who was styled by Géraldine Saglio and photographed by Hans Feurer. The supermodel posed in all sorts of denim items, from thoroughly patched jeans to plain or torn shirts. You can check out the entire photoshoot on Fashionising.com.

Here’s Anja Rubik in a Marques Almeida shoulderless ripped shirt posing in front of Hans Feurer’s camera lenses. The Marques Almeida creations are focusing on torn denim items, sometimes surprising with the massive cuts or consistent denim fringes.

But beyond the stylish magazine photoshoots and runway presentations, the street style always has a word to say about the latest trends.  And as you have noticed, ripped denim jeans, skirts or jackets have popped up here and there at the fashion shows and more and more on celebrities – you can check out Rihanna and Hanneli’s Acne ripped jackets.   AND, let me tell you that I’m mentioning Acne for a good reason. Not only celebrities prefer the brand but also fashion bloggers and fashion addicts.

  • Recommendation!  Garance Doré’s “Torn” post, I’m sure you’ll love that torn denim skirt, that by the way, you can see below as well:
