Céline Perfection, Fall 2013

Oh, Céline!

I eagerly waited to see how Phoebe Philo envisioned the Céline woman for the next fall/winter season. I couldn’t have been happier with the result: femininity and functionality merging into one. Structural silhouettes, geometric prints, a color palette screaming strength, rounded designs, voluminous coats, modern minimalistic jewelery pieces and jaw-dropping leather boots formed a very well-executed collection that defines the woman of modern times. I selected some of my favorite looks and you can see them below. Please let me add that those boots and coats are definitely something to crave for!

The Martin Grant Coats, Fall 2013

Martin Grant‘s fall 2013 coats have impressed me deeply! Oh, well, I am such a fool for minimalism, I just can’t stand a chance in front of a well-executed collection. The Australian designer’s high quality coats were, from my point of view, the apex of this collection. Timeless silhouettes portrayed the ideal French charm while the simple tailoring denoted sheer elegance and functionality in the same time. Although the designer approaches very geometrical and sharp aesthetics, he manages to give the audience a feminine and truly captivating collection.

In Detail: Chalayan Fall/Winter 2013

Every season, there are a couple of fashion designers that I like to keep an eye on. One of them is Hussein Chalayan whose coats and jackets I am always craving for.  And again, he didn’t cease to amaze me this season with his approach of modern looks and the speed of rolling from day to night wardrobe. In a palette of black, gray and dark green, vivified here and there with light earth tones or vibrant laser-like colors, the designer presented a collection of denim pieces interpreted in various forms: from short skirts to flare or skinny jeans. Signature precise cuts shaped perfectly tailored jackets and coats, while short colorful dresses alternated with long black gowns. Ankle boots in red velvet enlivened the collection.

Street Style: Leopard Print @ Fall/Winter 2012-2013 Haute-Couture Fashion Week, Paris

The 2012 Fall Haute-Couture Fashion Week is proof that the leopard print is still hanging on among the main trends…as it has been doing for a while now. I have never been a big fan of animal prints, hence my lack of animal printed clothing items, but I have to admit this has been a very strong trend. I’m wondering how much it’s going to last…

Street Style: Fall 2012 Haute-Couture Fashion Week, Paris

As you know, this week has been all about couture, as the world’s best know brands have presented their haute-couture collections for the fall/winter 2012-2013 season. Throughout the week, the street-style photographers have been capturing the street life and its vividness, as most of the people, from fashion editors to models, have donned summery outfits, full of colors & floral prints. Elena Perminova, who’s always an attraction for the photographers’ camera lenses, impressed in a lovely floral peplum top and skirt – it’s one of my favorite outfits of hers so far. She also donned a blue strapped Chloe dress.

Denim is the ever-present fabric in fashion. We have seen it on models such as Poppy Delevigne, who matched a pencil denim skirt with a white shirt during the Chanel show, or on Hanne Gaby Odiele, who opted for a very casual look wearing denim jeans, a Dries van Noten shirt and a pair of Adidas. Very fresh combinations were denim on denim, or leopard print on leopard print as seen on model Caroline Brasch Nielsen.

Another outfit that I like was Miroslava Duma’s masculine black jumpsuit. She’s not a very tall person but the ensemble is helping her a lot. Ulyana Sergeenko followed her personal style, as usual. My favorite outfit so far is her floral vintage dress. I haven’t found many pictures of this outfits as everyone has focused on her impressive black lace outfit, part of her Fall 2012 Couture Collection, a collection that was presented a couple of days ago in Paris. Long skirts or trains made of easy fabrics are also a chic option, as seen on Sofia Guellaty and Michelle Harper.

But, as usual, the colors win it all: from tropical prints to more traditions ones, straps, flowers, portraits, feathers and more. Check out the pictures below!
